India’s 267 million tobacco smokers have little options to move past traditional analog cigarettes thanks to the countrywide e-cigarette ban. Since the ban was enacted, India’s black market for vapor products has surged, and has drastically increased the prevalence of potentially dangerous low-quality products.  Over sixty experts with extensive experience in nicotine and related products have sent letters to the head of the ICMR, urging for a repeal of the ban. This would throw the doors wide open to give India’s tobacco users an alternative, free of the black market influences.
